San Sereno News June 2018

“Isn’t it funny how day by day, nothing changes. But when you look back, everything is different…” – C.S. Lewis.

I’ve always loved this quote – but I’m not sure it’s all that relevant at San Sereno, where changes seem to be happening now on a daily basis. By the time you read this, the renovation process will be in full swing, and the new three lane entrance should almost be completed, with the dining and community halls being next on the agenda! Our construction teams are well qualified and experienced, and have been fully briefed to ensure that all disturbance dirt and noise are kept to a minimum – of course, a certain amount of these are unavoidable, and we request your patience and understanding during this time – the end result will be well worth the temporary inconvenience !

In other news, we will be saying goodbye to Fedics at the end of July, when we will be bringing the catering function in-house. This will enable us to provide a better catering service and coffee shop – we have been fortunate to procure the services of Martin Greyling to assist us with this. Martin has 20 years Food and Beverage experience – he was Executive Chef of Sabi Sabi game reserve as well as Singita – and also worked at the Cape Grace hotel amongst others. He is working on redesigning the menu with our chef, Rohan Du Buisson (who will continue as San Sereno Head Chef!) and Rui, and these exciting changes will be accompanied by several additional improvements to the food service at San Sereno – which will be announced in more detail in due course. Exciting times indeed!

Kind regards,
